Al’s Pals: Kid’s Making Healthy Choices

Since July 2002, Medical Home Plus has coordinated the implementation in preschool, kindergarten, and first grade classrooms in the Greater Richmond area of a resiliency-based early childhood curriculum known as Al’s Pals: Kids Making Healthy Choices. The Al’s Pals curriculum is a nationally recognized model prevention program developed by Wingspan, LLC that was designed to develop personal, social and emotional skills in children ages three to eight years old.

Through forty-six brief interactive lessons, children learn to express their feelings appropriately, care about others, use self control, think independently, accept differences, make safe and healthy choices, and solve problems peacefully, among other prosocial goals and objectives.
