The Child with AD/HD

Kate Olenyik, Director of Bounce . . . Raising Resilient Children has a special interest and experience in working with families of children with AD/HD. As a parent of a son with AD/HD, Kate has done extensive research and training in this area. Kate has been certified by Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/HyperActivity Disorder, (CHADD) in their Parent to Parent: Family Training on AD/HD curriculum, Kate is passionate about working with families, teachers, health care professionals and other adults who interact with children with AD/HD.

Kate is available to present various sessions regarding AD/HD on such topics as understanding AD/HD and co-existing behaviors, homework strategies, teaching responsibility, organizational skills and behavior management to name a few.


Parent to Parent: Family Training on AD/HD

CHADD, the National AD/HD organization, has developed this multi-session interactive and educational program for adults and parents of children and adolescents with AD/HD.

This seven-session series will provide educational information and support for families who are dealing with AD/HD and learning to navigate the challenges of AD/HD across the lifespan. The topics included in this unique program are:

  • Assessment to Multi-Modal Treatment
    • Impact of AD/HD on the Family & Creating Developmentally Age Appropriate Positive Behavior Interventions
    • Developing Parenting Strategies and Interventions That Strengthen Family Relationships
  • What Do I Do When My Child is Having Difficulty at School?
    • Understanding the Federal Laws: An Overview of 504 and IDEA
  • Working with the Schools: Building an Education Team That Works
  • AD/HD Across the Life Span and Adults with AD/HD
